Living in Harmony With Earth
Weekend of January 21-22, 2012
In A Nutshell…
The New/Resting Moon, arriving very early Monday, January 23rd, brings a slower, calmer influence. It encourages us to kick back, take it easy, slow down, sleep in, and relax. And, in this depth of Winter, you have Mother Nature’s permission.
Take a break from any kind of work and enjoy time with family and friends. A Resting weekend is good for togetherness as well as solitude.
Last Weekend
January 14-15, 2012: Finish
It was time to use your intuition for bringing your attention and power home to yourself.
This Weekend
January 21-22, 2012: Rest

In our current culture, time to ourselves is considered a luxury. There are so many people and things that draw our attention and focus outward rather than inward, making it easy to become drained and exhausted. But, inward is where we must go to develop and mature ourselves in order to function with greater awareness in the world.
We do not have to enter a monastery to do this. Sometimes all it takes is the fresh perspective gained by rest. I am not talking about sleeping in, but rather uninterrupted solitude that allows the mind and body to relax and settle. To create this for yourself, intentionally claim the physical time and space; no phone, media, pets or other people. Just for that time, let go of the distractions of to do lists and pending any things. Busy and full must become empty and calm. Out of this calm, call it sacred space, comes a different, clearer view of yourself and the world. You are free to see things differently and to feel the “real you”. Resting in this way can change your world.
Next Weekend
January 28-29, 2012: Plan
Daydreams are the prelude to creating plans; make time for some Winter dreaming.

Two Treasures--Part 3 of 4: The Shadows
A treasure “is a concentration of riches … considered lost or forgotten until rediscovered” (Wikipedia).
Human beings are born with two inherited treasures: intuition and logic. They are the great treasures of humanity because intuition and logic, used together, are the balanced paths to knowledge, compassion, creativity, spiritual understanding, science and other greatly prized human endeavors.
Nevertheless, some people favor logic as the “true” path to knowledge by dismissing and stuffing their intuition into the shadows of their personality. How can a person discover what treasures they are trying to stuff? Pay attention to your anger, irrational dislikes, ridicule or hatred of others to find what is lurking in the shadows of your own personality.
Stuffing your treasures into the shadows is the equivalent of dismissing, hating or ignoring some part of you. In so doing, you will likely feel uncomfortable associating with people who openly exhibit the treasures you are trying to stuff. Eventually, to make yourself comfortable, you may attempt to seek political control over the behavior of “those rebellious” people.
